NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – A Colorado man has been arrested in New Mexico after skipping the final day of his child sexual assault trial. Jorge Campos, 42, was supposed to be in court in Douglas County, Colorado, on Friday for a trial related to the rape of an 11-year-old girl.

Instead, officials say he cut off his ankle monitor, which was found in a dumpster near his home. Police say he’s been on the run since Friday but was arrested in Chaparral, New Mexico, on Sunday.
A spokesperson for Colorado’s 23rd Judicial District Attorney’s Office says the arrest comes after someone saw news of Campos on the run and spotted him on a bus headed to Mexico. Campos will be sent back to Colorado, where he’s expected to face new charges related to his fleeing…
