A Colorado Springs man was sentenced to 24 years in prison Monday in connection to a 2023 incident where he broke into a Loveland home and threatened two people with a hatchet, one of them being his pregnant girlfriend. According to the Loveland Reporter Herald, both defense attorney William Holtz and prosecution attorney Brian Hardouin agreed that 37 year old Jesus Lopez-Zavala broke into the home in the 3200 block of West Eisenhower Boulevard and got into a fight with the male victim, but disagreed about the defendant’s intent and whether a hatchet was used, despite pictures from the scene of a hatchet with blood on it submitted into evidence…
