(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) said on Wednesday, March 18, the office’s SWAT team was deployed to arrest an uncooperative suspect.
According to EPSO, on Wednesday, at around 8 p.m., deputies responded to the 11150 block of Highway 24 near Falcon. Deputies were looking for 61-year-old Rodney Cordova, who was wanted on alleged charges of second-degree assault – strangulation, and felony menacing.
When deputies arrived, they found Cordova’s vehicle at the home and confirmed he was inside. Additional people inside left the home voluntarily.
Deputies established a perimeter and made multiple attempts to contact Cordova by phone to reach a peaceful resolution, but Cordova allegedly didn’t cooperate. According to EPSO, based on information in the arrest warrant and witness statements, deputies believed Cordova had a gun…
