Family of 8 displaced after townhome fire in Cimarron Hills

(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — A family of eight has been displaced after a townhome caught fire in Cimarron Hills on Tuesday, March 24.

According to the Cimarron Hills Fire Department (CHFD), firefighters responded shortly after 4 p.m. to a structure fire in the 1200 block of Cree Drive, near Galley Road and Peterson Road. The townhome was part of a six-plex, CHFD said.

CHFD said thanks to the quick response from firefighters, the damage was contained to the unit where the fire originated. Unfortunately, there was heavy damage to the single unit and a family of eight has been displaced. CHFD said it is working with the Red Cross to assist the impacted family.
