Second meeting held for Front Range passenger rail

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Thursday, March 26, the Front Range Passenger Rail District (FRPRD) held its second town hall at Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center to share updates for the proposed intercity express train that will connect communities across the Front Range.

This was the second town hall held by FRPRD in Colorado Springs. The meetings are part of a series of listening sessions designed to gather community feedback on the rail plan. The current proposed rail service is in a long-term development phase, with an estimated five to 10 years out from expanding beyond the current demonstration train that runs between Denver and Longmont.

The next proposed route would be from Denver to Fort Collins. After that, the plan is to expand south to Colorado Springs and eventually Pueblo. Advocates for the project emphasize how the train will be a benefit for Coloradans and that it will connect communities along the Front Range…
