COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A shelter-in-place order was issued near Skyway Park Elementary School in southwest Colorado Springs Tuesday afternoon after a student allegedly brought a weapon onto school grounds.
At 1:35 p.m., the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) issued a shelter-in-place order for the area of 1110 Mercury Drive in southwest Colorado Springs due to law enforcement activity near the address.
According to CSPD, officers received a call for service around 1:21 p.m. for a student at Skyway Elementary, reportedly with a weapon around staff members on school grounds. Police said the student then ran away from the school…
