EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) — From city leaders to police, Colorado Springs is getting in on the April Fool’s Day fun with a wave of creative pranks across social media.
The Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Department teased a fictional new attraction at Garden of the Gods. The post described a “lazy river-style, geologically tantalizing experience.”
The idea promised visitors a chance to float past the park’s iconic red rock formations while staying cool during warmer months, offering what it called a “never-before-seen vantage point.”
Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade also joined in on the jokes, announcing a fake “original series” with Netflix.
In the post, Mobolade said the show would focus on his experience as the city’s first Black, immigrant, and independent mayor, adding that a second season is already in the works.
Meanwhile, the Colorado Springs Police Department introduced its “newest officer,” Tacticat, as part of a fictional “Feline Unit.”…
