Astronomer calls Artemis II mission “overdue” and hopes historic moon launch inspires next generation

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A towering rocket lit up the Florida sky as Artemis II blasted off from Kennedy Space Center, sending four astronauts on a ten-day mission around the moon for the first time in more than 50 years.

Astronomer Gary Boyle said the mission marks a long-awaited step forward for space exploration.
