(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Thursday, April 2, the Springs Rescue Mission held a special dinner for the city’s homeless population with its annual Easter Banquet.
Springs Rescue Mission said it sees people every day, three meals a day. But holidays are a special chance to slow down, show people love and intentionality by doing a nice sit-down meal. For the Easter Banquet, the Rescue Mission had a band playing and was giving people clothing.
“A lot of the folks we serve don’t have families to spend the holidays with. They don’t have anywhere to go to have a meal with loved ones, with community,” said Cameron Moix, Director of Marketing and Communications with Springs Rescue Mission. “So it’s really important on these days to give people a sense of community and express that love and care.”…
