(FOUNTAIN, Colo.) — Westbound Highway 16 has reopened after a crash that sent four people to the hospital on Monday, April 6. According to the Fountain Police Department (FPD), the highway was open and clear as of 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

The two-vehicle crash happened around 11 a.m. on Monday at the intersection of Mesa Ridge Parkway and Syracuse Street. Four people were taken to the hospital, and two had serious injuries. No students were involved, according to Fountain police.

A crash on Mesa Ridge Parkway, near Mesa Ridge High School in Fountain, has closed the westbound lanes of Highway 16 and sent four people to the hospital on Monday, April 6, according to the Fountain Police Department (FPD).

Around 11 a.m. FPD reported that due to the two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Mesa Ridge Parkway and Syracuse Street, westbound drivers should take alternate routes to avoid the road closure.
