‘Hammer Fire’ north of Hanover reported to be nearly 5,000 acres, 60% contained

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – UPDATE: Evacuations and pre-evacuation orders were lifted for the ‘Hammer Fire’ at 1:51 p.m. Thursday.

At this time, Hanover Fire Chief Carl Tatum said the fire is 60% contained. As of 9:30 a.m., the fire had burned 4958 acres.

While the cause of the fire has not yet been released, crews said they do not suspect it was criminal…
