COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Fifth-graders at one local elementary school spent months raising fish in their classroom. They set them free Monday.
Students at Howbert Elementary in Colorado Springs started with about 210 rainbow trout eggs back in October, watching them hatch and move into a big tank.
The school said students learned to test water quality and discuss pollution.
“As we were getting them out of the tank this morning, they were like, are you going to do this again next year? So I feel like that’s always a good indicator that they enjoyed it,” Chelsea Green, a fifth-grade teacher at Howbert Elementary School, told 11 News…
