Hope Mills, Raeford Men Arrested in Vehicle Theft Ring Operating Across Carolinas

Two men were arrested on Thursday, June 4, after investigators from several agencies broke up a truck theft operation that stretched across North and South Carolina. Police found six semi trucks, three trailers, and two cars. The haul? Worth more than $630,000, according to a report from WWAY TV.

Andre David Horace Jumpp of Hope Mills was charged with two counts of breaking and entering plus two counts of stealing a car, per the report. Prince Leon Raymond Betts of Raeford got hit with those same charges. But wait—there’s more. Betts also faces two counts of owning a gun as a felon and one count of having a stolen car.

On Wednesday, June 3, officers executed search warrants at homes in Cumberland and Hoke counties. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation said the men stole trucks, swapped out vehicle identification numbers and license plates, then rented these rigs to people who had no clue they were driving hot property…
