Hampton County students land 100k college awards

VARNVILLE, S.C. – Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina presented its largest scholarships to date to two graduating Hampton County High School students: Jimiah Brown and Solana Manor.

The Marcia and Johnny Wood Scholarship is available only to students in Hampton County and provides $25,000 per year, renewable throughout their four years of college. With up to $100,000 available per student, recipients of the Marcia and Johnny Wood Scholarship should be able to graduate from college with little to no debt.

“I was really surprised. I’m ecstatic. I can’t believe it,” said scholarship recipient Jimiah Brown. “It means I can focus primarily on studying.”…
