COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – The Carolina Crossroads Project is moving into its next phase, according to South Carolina Department of Transportation officials. The phase involves replacing the Interstate 20 bridges over the Saluda River.
Federal Highway Administrator Sean McMaster spoke about the potential time savings for commuters once the project is complete.
“You’ve all been in traffic, you’ve all been in congestion from time to time. I don’t think anyone has ever indicated that they love the congestion that they go through. This project is going to be transformative in this corridor. The estimated benefits with the completed project here are north of one hundred hours a year per driver,” McMaster said…
