Community summit focuses on gun violence

Citizens of the Lorick Park community gathered recently at Lorick Park for a summit on gun violence. The event included a panel with survivors of gun violence and officers of the Columbia Police Department along with Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook. Each panel member shared stories and the trauma and healing process that follows a tragedy. Columbia program manager for Serve and Connect Enla Staley (l), opened the discussion with the panel members. Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook (r), shared some personal experiences he’s worked with over the years and answered questions from the panel and audience.
