The State Election Commission in Columbia, South Carolina, is urging eligible voters to take part in the upcoming Republican Presidential Primary. Early voting starts on Monday, February 12, 2024, and ends on Thursday, February 22, 2024. Voting centers will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., except on Sunday, February 18, and Monday, February 19 (Presidents’ Day). Voters need to show a Photo ID to vote.
Absentee voting is available for those who qualify, such as those with a physical disability or aged 65 or older. The last day to apply for an absentee ballot is 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13. The completed ballot must be signed and witnessed by someone 18 or older.
The absentee ballot should be returned by mail or in person as soon as possible, but no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, February 24. If you’re returning the ballot in person, you need to show a Photo ID. If you’re mailing it, do so a week before Election Day to ensure it arrives on time.
