The Town of Lexington has officially opened the long awaited Old Mill Pond Trail. A grand opening and ribbon cutting was held Friday morning to celebrate. Original discussion about the walking trail was part of the town’s 2012 Vision Plan, but those plans were greatly impacted by the 2015 historic flooding event that happened in the Carolinas. The flood caused breeches in many local dams, including the Old Mill’s earthen dam.
