COLUMBIA, S.C. – Longtime Columbia TV personality Joe Pinner has died. Pinner started his broadcasting career in radio before moving to television in the early 1960s. Pinner was perhaps best known by many in the Midlands as Mr. Knozit. His award-winning children’s show aired for decades on WIS-TV, and thousands of youngsters from across the state appeared on the program. He also served as a weathercaster and spent 55 years at WIS-TV before retiring in 2018.
