A 4-year-old boy tragically lost his life after being shot inside a vehicle in Columbia, South Carolina , according to police reports on Wednesday.
The incident took place on Tuesday on Harbison Boulevard in the capital city, as stated by Columbia police in a statement on X.
A firearm was found at the scene and investigators are currently questioning the boy’s mother. The young child later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital . Columbia police have vowed to “continue to determine how the child was fatally injured. Additional information will be “released when possible” as authorities haven’t named the victim or the family yet.
