(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Good Sunday Morning! We will have to stay weather aware today, as today is a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day. We are tracking the threat of severe weather, along with some isolated flash flooding issues due to heavy rainfall.
TORNADO WATCH ISSUED UNTIL 1 P.M. This includes Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Union, Gaston, Cleveland, Catawba, Burke, Alexander, Iredell, and Rowan counties in North Carolina. The tornado watch includes Chester, Lancaster, and Chesterfield counties in South Carolina.
The dreary conditions are continuing into our Sunday, with areas of dense fog and mist this morning. We also have a few lighter showers moving into the mountains and foothills.
Despite the gloomy start to the day, temperatures are warming up this morning towards the 50s and 60s. A milder pattern takes shape as you step outdoors.
The main concern today will be damaging wind gusts, as a potent line of storms moves through the region from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. today. This will be a quick-moving line of storms, but it could pack a punch during the short time it is here. The line of storms will produce 30-40 mph gusts, however, a few isolated storms within the line could produce 50-60 mph wind gusts, creating a damaging wind threat.
