MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Yesterday’s cold front did not bring severe weather to our counties. There were two confirmed tornadoes in South Carolina (Fairfield and Richland counties). That cold front is now offshore and temperatures are a little cooler today but winds remain out of the south and temperatures will continue to be nearly 10 degrees above average.
Highs will be in the mid and upper-60s with partly sunny skies. Mostly clear and still mild for tonight with a low temperature near 50 at the beach and mid-40s inland. We will watch for some patchy fog tomorrow morning.
Another cold front is approaching for New Year’s Eve and will bring cooler temperatures into the fold. Tomorrow will remain warm in the upper-60s to near 70 with the cold front expected to move through from 5-9 p.m. There is a small chance for a shower but it will be a mostly dry holiday. Around midnight it will be mostly clear with temperatures cool but not cold in the low-mid-50s to ring in 2025.
Temperatures will return to normal on Wednesday with highs in the mid and upper-50s. Wednesday night will be cold with temperatures falling into the low and mid-30s. The rest of the work week is bright, sunny, and cool with temperatures staying in the 50s.
