Strong Winds and Rain to Impact Coastal Carolinas; Cooler Weather Expected Through Monday

Columbia, SC – Residents in the Midlands and the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) should brace for changing weather conditions over the next few days, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Columbia.

On Saturday, gusty westerly winds between 30-40 mph prompted a Lake Wind Advisory, which will remain in effect until 7 PM. Winds are expected to weaken overnight as a cold front moves in, lowering dewpoints into the 20s and temperatures into the 40s.

Sunday will bring much cooler weather, with highs in the mid-50s. Rain is expected to develop, mainly impacting the Southern Midlands and CSRA, continuing into Monday. By midweek, temperatures will warm significantly, with dry conditions expected until another storm system arrives next weekend.
