COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Our First Alert Weather Day will remain in place Monday as cooler weather sticks around and rain becomes more widespread across the Midlands.

First Alert Summary
We’re closing out the weekend across the Midlands gloomy and cool this evening. A few showers will also be possible, mainly for locations south of the Interstate 20 corridor. Overnight, expect rain coverage to increase as a low-pressure system nears from the west. Temperatures overnight will slowly cool off to the middle 40s.
Have your rain gear ready to go Monday! Tomorrow is also a First Alert Weather Day as temperatures stay well below normal and with widespread rain in the forecast. Periodic showers and bouts of heavy rainfall at times are expected from Monday through at least the early evening hours. Temperatures will struggle to climb only to the lower to a few middle 50s with rain and clouds around. Rainfall totals through the end of the day could up to 1-2″. Rain chances will end areawide into Monday night as this system exits east.
Brighter skies and warmer temperatures quickly return to the Midlands Tuesday. Afternoon highs will peak in the lower 70s with plenty of sunshine to go around.
The remainder of the work week will shape up to be warm and relatively quiet. Our next chance of rain likely holds off until next weekend courtesy to an incoming cold front. Additional details are to come through the weekend.
