Outfits for orphans: Ladies gather, sew clothes amounting to thousands

Tucked away in the corner of June Suddeth’s home in Columbia is her sewing room where she and three other ladies frequently gather every Wednesday making dresses for young girls and shorts and tops for young boys in need.

The outfits are created from donated pillowcases and other miscellaneous fabrics the group is given and then given to children in orphanages in different countries.

The length of time the ladies have been sewing together escapes them but “long before Covid” and around the time a former reverend was at their church is what the ladies estimate…
