Fire Truck Pull event supports Curing Kids Cancer

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — Teams competed on the streets in downtown Columbia on Saturday for the 12th annual Fire Truck Pull, an event benefiting Curing Kids Cancer.

The fundraiser, hosted by the Columbia-Richland Fire Department, challenged participants to pull a 14-ton fire engine 50 feet in the fastest time.

Held on Hampton Street between Main and Assembly, the event supports pediatric cancer research.

“This event always brings a lot of fun to the city every spring, and our members are proud to support it,” said Columbia-Richland Fire Chief Aubrey D. Jenkins. “Not only is it a thrilling competition, but it also shows support for area kids who are fighting for their lives each day.”…
