COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Southerly flow will result in warmer weather for the Midlands to start off the new work week!
First Alert Headlines:
- Plenty of sunshine for Sunday.
- Above-average warmth in the 80s expected to kick off the new week.
- Dry cold front brings a brief cool-down by mid-week.
First Alert Weather Summary:
Our weather is on track to stay quiet and cool through this evening across the Midlands. A batch of clouds is forecast to diminish overhead into the overnight hours. Temperatures during this time will also cool off to the upper 30s to lower 40s.
After a bit of a chilly start to the day, Sunday will be another beautiful day as temperatures start to moderate. By the afternoon, highs are expected to top out in the lower 70s in most spots, which is slightly closer to average for mid-April. Get outside and enjoy the sunshine if you’re able to!
High-pressure sliding to the east will result in even warmer conditions across the Midlands to kick start the new work week. Southerly winds are forecast to boost temperatures up to the middle 80s Monday afternoon.
This warm-up, however, will be short-lived yet again. We’re expected another cold front to pass through the region Tuesday-Wednesday. This will usher in cooler air and will bring highs back down to the lower 70s by mid-week. This will also be a dry front, so we don’t anticipate on seeing rain currently.
Another area of high-pressure will influence our weather by the end of the week/next weekend. This is when we can expect temperatures back in the 80s to return.
