Lexington County Planning Commission approves 624-home development

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Lexington County is set to see another major expansion as the county’s Planning Commission has approved a new housing development that would bring more than 600 homes to the area.

The proposed neighborhood would be located off Edmund Highway and would cover 221 acres. The development plan includes 624 homes—twice the size of the original proposal approved by the Lexington Zoning and Planning Commission last June.

With the influx of homes, the number of students attending nearby schools is expected to increase significantly.
