South Carolina will have an unsettled weather pattern on Saturday, and some areas may still be cloudy to start the day on Sunday. A cold front is moving closer to the Upstate on Friday, increasing the chance of showers and isolated storms.
Showers and some isolated storms have affected the Upstate on Friday morning, and this activity will continue to move eastward, over the Midlands overnight into Saturday. The coast could see showers, especially along the Pee Dee, by evening, and they are expected to continue through the early morning hours on Sunday.
We do not forecast these storms to become severe, but rather to bring a healthy dose of downpours, which could help ease the drought slightly. Overall, the state is expected to receive around half an inch, but very isolated areas, mainly in Upstate, could see between 0.75 and 1 inch.
Temperatures will remain around or close to the 80s statewide on Saturday and Sunday, which is about 5 degrees above average. A slight temperature decrease is expected on Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures closer to average for this time of year, in the mid-to-upper 70s.
