Two students were arrested early this morning, May 1, after an anonymous tip warned that they planned to bring weapons to Brookland Cayce High School.
According to the Cayce Police Departments Public Information Officer, the tip was received before school hours, prompting an immediate response from Brookland Cayce High School administration, the Cayce School Resource Officers (SROs), and Cayce Police. Upon investigation, authorities discovered two handguns on the students. At least one of the weapons was loaded.
The students were apprehended before any interaction with the school took place, as they were boarding the bus to campus. Both juveniles were arrested and transported to the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice.
