New apartments approved near Columbia’s Devine Street

COLUMBIA, S.C. — New apartments are coming to the Devine Street area, just blocks away from Five Points, after getting approval from the City of Columbia’s Planning Commission on Thursday night.

The development is planned for the corner of Devine Street and Heidt Street, where a group of former single-family homes currently serve as office spaces. The approved plans call for a four-story building with 55 apartment units.

The project will include a mix of unit sizes: 12 one-bedroom apartments, 34 two-bedroom units, and nine three-bedroom units. A 76-space parking lot is slated to be built behind the building to accommodate residents…
