COLUMBIA, S.C. — Fire officials said fast-acting crews quickly extinguished a fire at a popular Columbia restaurant on Saturday night.
A spokesperson for Columbia-Richland Fire said crews first responded to the California Dreaming restaurant around 9:30 p.m. The arriving crews elevated the call to a two-alarm response to free up additional resources after they found fire coming from part of the roof and the third floor.
Crews were able to trace the fire to the ventilation system and put it out quickly, though the cause is still under investigation. Crews said employees and some customers were still inside at the time, but everyone got out safely, and no injuries were reported…
