Columbia and the surrounding region should prepare for a line of strong thunderstorms to move through the area Friday afternoon, the latest forecasts show.
According to the National Weather Service, the line of storms is expected to move into the area between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. from northwest to southeast.
“The primary threats will be damaging winds, isolated hail and a possible brief tornado,” the NWS states.
Also expect wind speeds of between 7 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. New rainfall amounts between 0.10 inches and 0.25 inches are expected, but more some spots could receive more…
