Suspect’s speed got over 100MPH in chase on I-77 in Columbia, deputies say

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Richland County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a driver following a high speed chase along I-77 that ended with a crash at the intersection of Rosewood Drive and South Beltline Boulevard in Columbia.

The incident began on I-77 South when a RCSD deputy observed a black Jeep traveling 80 mph in a 60 mph zone. When initiating a traffic stop the deputy was able to get the Jeep to pull over to the shoulder. However, as the deputy exited his vehicle, the suspect, identified as Sinclair McDonald Jr, fled in the Jeep at a high rate of speed. RCSD gave pursuit, tracking McDonald at over 100 mph and disregarding traffic control devices…
