(WACH) — Funeral arrangements have been announced for 18-year-old Donaven Dempsey, whose body was tragically discovered in the Congaree River on May 26, following a disappearance that lasted over two weeks.
Dempsey was a freshman at the University of South Carolina who went missing during a trip to Columbia from his hometown of Spartanburg.
A balloon release to honor his life is scheduled for Sunday, June 8, at 6:00 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring a purple balloon.
