The Storm Prediction Center is indicating risk for severe thunderstorms and one or two tornadoes for areas from Virginia southward through North and South Carolina for Sunday June 8th 2025. The risk is for a 15 percent chance or a slight risk for severe thunderstorms within 25 miles of any point inside the risk zone. Some outlets refer to this as a level 2 severe weather outbreak. There is also tornado risk and the Storm Prediction Center is forecasting an area of 2 to 5 percent chance for tornadoes in Eastern Virginia. Washington DC, Baltimore Maryland and Richmond Virginia are among the metro areas that will be inside the slight risk zone as well as the 2 to 5 percent tornado risk zone.
