Sheriff: Richland County woman charged after dog found with serious wound from metal collar

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – A Midlands woman is facing charges after authorities recently found a dog that was seriously injured.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said Marie Sky was arrested and charged with a count ill-treatment of animals.

RCSD said the charge was linked to a June 22 call as deputies responded to an area of Drexel Lake Road. They reportedly found a dog named Milo wandering the area with a severe neck wound caused by a metal collar.

Neighbors led deputies to Sky, who claimed ownership of Milo. She reportedly said she collar had been put on to keep the dog from escaping the backyard…
