The Midlands may see rain showers and gusty winds starting the night of July 5, but the National Weather Service expects “minimal impact” to the area, according to a report on Tropical Storm Chantal issued this morning by NWS Columbia SC.
The weather service issued a Lake Wind Advisory from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on July 5, with winds expected to reach between 20 and 30 mph across the region, but no tropical hazards are expected for the Central South Carolina and the Central Savannah River areas, according to the report.
