After consulting with the Fifth Circuit Solicitor’s Office, the Columbia Police Department announced that charges will not be filed in two fatal shootings.
The first happened May 9. Shortly after 6:30 a.m. CPD officers were dispatched to the Carolina Lodge, formerly known as the Coronet Motel, at the 6300 block of North Main Street.
A man identified by the Richland County Coroner as Anthony L. Doctor, was found deceased in the parking lot. CPD investigators believe Doctor, who was armed, acted as the primary aggressor before he was fatally shot…
