ACLU questions Homeland Security raid at Upstate restaurant

The ACLU of South Carolina is raising questions after a raid at an Upstate restaurant, last month. As we previously reported, the Department of Homeland Security executed a search warrant at Puerto Nuevo Restaurant, June 18th.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office and West Union Police Department assisted in the investigation. Homeland Security says two juveniles who were human trafficking victims were rescued in the operation.

A total of 10 people were arrested in the incident, including the restaurant’s manager who admittedly brought a gun into the taped off crime scene. Officials say the operation was not related to any sort of ICE investigation…
