This weekend begins a stretch of unusually hot and humid weather across the Southeast, continuing through next week. According to the National Weather Service, this heat could reach dangerous levels especially mid to late next week.
While we’ve been experiencing hot weather with high temperatures, the National Weather Service says the elevated humidity along with high temperatures make for heat index values nearing the criteria to issue a heat advisory, excessive heat watch, or an excessive heat warning.
