A search is underway for a wanted man as a woman was recently found bleeding profusely after she was brutally beaten with a blunt object, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
Kenneth Brown, 44, is wanted on an attempted murder charge, the sheriff’s department said Wednesday.
The charge stems from a June 10 assault at a home in the 400 block of Mellowood Drive, according to an incident report shared by the sheriff’s department. That’s in a part of Columbia between Bluff and Shop roads, about 4 miles from Williams-Brice Stadium.
At about 11:25 p.m. on June 10, deputies responded to a call about an assault, according to the release. Deputies found a woman lying on her stomach in a pool of blood in the driveway, the sheriff’s department said.
