Former Columbia police officer charged with impersonating SLED agent

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — A 77-year-old former Columbia Police Department officer has been charged with impersonating a South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) agent.

Earlier this month, David Stuckey allegedly contacted the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office by phone, falsely claiming to be a SLED agent.

According to arrest warrants, Stuckey identified himself as “David Stuckey with SLED” and emailed photographs of a SLED badge to support his claim. He also said he was investigating a suspect involved in theft…
