CHARLOTTE, N.C. — North Carolina ranked significantly higher than its southern neighbor in a comprehensive study of the best states to live in, placing 22nd overall while South Carolina landed at 44th, according to new research from WalletHub.
The personal finance website compared all 50 states across five key dimensions using 51 metrics to determine overall livability. Massachusetts topped the rankings, followed by Idaho, New Jersey, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
