COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Highs today will top out around 90 degrees before an incoming cold front brings us a preview of fall.
First Alert Headlines:
- Today is the warmest day of this week!
- Cooler and drier air ushers in for the next few days.
- Slow return of rain chances towards the upcoming weekend.
First Alert Summary:
Today is the warmest day of the week, although a cold front dropping through the Midlands will bring us a preview of fall-like weather. Before it arrives, today is still a warm one. Under a mostly sunny sky, high temperatures will top out around 90 degrees.
Behind this cold front, a large area of high pressure will build in from our west, giving us a source for drier and cooler air. This means dry weather will prevail and we’ll have fall-like temperatures in place! Through the rest of the week, highs will only reach the low-80s, with morning lows dropping into the low-60s.
Towards the end of this week, the cold front that ushered in these fall-like temperatures will stall out and drift across the Southeast. With this boundary just to our south, it’ll provide enough moisture to give us limited chances of rain by Friday and into the upcoming weekend.
First Alert Forecast:
Today: A few passing clouds throughout the day. Highs around 90 degrees…
