Cocaine, guns found after speeding car leads to traffic stop in Richland County

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) – Authorities said a speeding vehicle led to cocaine and firearms being found in the Midlands over the weekend.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said 56-year-old Darrell T. Brown was arrested and charged with simple possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, trafficking crack cocaine, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and felon in possession of a firearm.

RCSD said Brown’s arrest stemmed from a traffic stop on Greystone Boulevard toward Interstate 126 at around 10 p.m. Saturday.

An incident report states Brown opened his center console during the stop to reveal a clear jar containing 10 grams of marijuana. A firearm was also found in the glove box after Brown told deputies it was inside…
