COLUMBIA, S.C. — Bus riders in Columbia may see some improvements to COMET bus schedules, aimed at reducing congestion at the downtown hub and improving the on-time arrival of buses.
Currently, all buses meet at COMET Central at the same time, which can result in heavy traffic at Laurel and Sumter streets.
The new schedule is expected to space out arrivals. Thirty-minute routes are anticipated to meet at the top and bottom of the hour, while hour-long routes could meet 15 minutes before or after each hour.
