Columbia police pursuit leads to crash, arrest in Lexington County

LEXINGTON, S.C. — A police pursuit that began in Columbia ended in Lexington County Sunday night with a crash and an arrest, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD).

Columbia Police Department (CPD) officers say they initially attempted to stop a vehicle connected to outstanding warrants but lost sight of it near Lost Creek Drive. Richland County deputies then joined the pursuit after being alerted by Columbia Police.

At approximately 9:15 p.m., deputies spotted the suspect’s vehicle near Broad River Road and Lost Creek Drive. When deputies attempted a stop, they say the driver refused to pull over and led officers on a chase into Lexington County.
