One dead in early morning apartment fire in Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia-Richland Fire Department reports that one person has been found after firefighters worked the scene of an early morning blaze at an apartment complex on South Beltline Boulevard.

Crews responded to the property at 1700 S. Beltline around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 2. Firefighters located the source of the fire in one room of the apartment and it was quickly extinguished.

After the fire was out, one person was located inside the unit and the Richland County Coroner was called to the scene. No other injuries were reported…
