Lexington County man accused of seriously injuring child in 2024

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) – A Midlands man is facing charges after allegedly injuring his child last year.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said 27-year-old Jordan Hysell, of Chapin, was arrested Tuesday and charged with inflicting great bodily injury upon a child.

An arrest warrant released by SLED states that between Nov. 1, 2024, and Dec. 1, 2024, Hysell allegedly caused “great bodily injury upon a child, resulting in bodily injury which creates a substantial risk of death or which causes serious or permanent disfigurement or protracted loss or impairment of any bodily member or organ.”

According to the warrant, Hysell specifically caused the victim to have arm bruising, rib and femur fractures as well as a subconjunctival hemorrhage, or a broken blood vessel in the eye…
